Seth I. Cohen, Partner
Seth I. Cohen, a native of New York, is a graduate of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (B.A., 1988), and the University of Miami School of Law (J.D., 1991) where he was a Staff Member of the University of Miami Business Law Journal. Mr. Cohen was admitted to practice law in the State of Florida in 1992; the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida in 1993; and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida in 1995.
Prior to forming Shafer Cohen, L.L.P., a law firm affiliated with Princeton Title & Escrow, Mr. Cohen co-founded Fogel & Cohen, L.L.P., a full service transactional law firm. He also practiced with two other prominent Florida firms in Palm Beach County. Mr. Cohen began his legal career having the distinct privilege of serving as a judicial staff attorney at the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit Court in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for the Honorable Miette K. Burnstein, Honorable Mel Grossman, Honorable Lawrence L. Korda, and Honorable Larry Seidlin. It was there where he learned and saw the legal system from the inside out.
Mr. Cohen was born in 1966 and grew up in Great Neck, New York. He has lived in South Florida since 1988.
His affiliations and memberships include the Florida Bar Association (Member, Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section; Business Law Section); Palm Beach County Real Estate Council, American Bar Association; South Palm Beach County Bar Association; Trustee Member, Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce; Member, Rotary Club International (Boca Raton Chapter); Member, Business Development Board of Palm Beach County, Inc.; Stephen R. Booher American Inn of Court (1992- 1995).
He sat on the Board of Directors of the South Palm Beach Unit of the American Cancer Society, and is proud to have co-founded the Fogel & Cohen Foundation, Inc., which 501(c)(3) organization raised funds for cancer related causes.
Jonathan C. Benitah , Associate
Mr. Benitah earned his B.S.B.A. cum laude in General Business Administration from the University of Central Florida in 2002. He earned his law degree cum laude in 2005 from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center, where he was a Junior Editor of the NSU International Citator and Research Project.
He is admitted to practice in the State of Florida, is a member of the Florida Bar Association and the American Bar Association (Sections: Real Property, Probate and Trust Law; Business Law).
Mr. Benitah was born in South Florida and has lived here ever since. He currently resides in North Miami Beach with his wife.
While in law school, Mr. Benitah was honored with the Book Award in Contracts, and was a teacher’s assistant in the Academic Resources Program. He was also a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, Association of Business Law Students, Sports and Entertainment Law Society, and Jewish Law Students Association. In addition, he conducted an academic internship with Holland and Knight, LLP, during is final semester of law school.
His article, ‘Anti-Scalping Laws: Should They be Forgotten?’ was published in the University of Texas School of Law, Texas Review of Entertainment and Sports Law.
Mr. Benitah concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial and residential real estate, including title insurance and title-related issues, and Corporate and Business Law.
